Acceptable Proof of Risk of Homelessness or Housing Instability
- Option 1: Demonstrate that you have past due rent and/or utilities
- Option 2: Demonstrate that it is likely you will be unable to pay future rent and/or utilities when they are due.
Option 1
Past Due Rent & Late Fees - It is likely that you are applying to this program because you are behind on your rent and/or have late fees. If so, you'll need to make sure that your landlord uploads proof of your past due rent/late fees.
As part of your ERAP application, you are required to provide contact information for your landlord and submit a "recommendation request" to your landlord. Your applications will not be fully submitted until your landlord has responded to the recommendation request and has submitted required documentation.
If your landlord refuses to participate in the program (after repeated requests from us), you may be eligible to receive direct payment of the financial award.
Option 2:
No Past Due Rent or Late Fees - If you do not have delinquent rent and/or late fees, we will need to collect additional information from you to determine your eligibility for the program. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis.
